Several members of the department have received national awards and fellowships, including National Science Foundation Grants, Fulbright-Hays Fellowships, a Hoover Presidential Scholarship, an American Council on Education fellowship, and a Guggenheim Fellowship. The department also is well represented in national and international professional organizations, such as the American Political Science Association, the International Political Science Association, the Council for European Studies, the International Studies Association, the American Society for Public Administration, the Law and Society Association, the Society for Historians of American Foreign Relations, and the American Historical Association.
Each year members of the department publish articles in leading professional journals, such as The American Political Science Review, The American Journal of Political Science, The Journal of Politics, Comparative Political Studies, Journal of Conflict Resolution, International Studies Quarterly, International Organization, and Political Science Quarterly.
Members of the department also have served and are serving on the editorial boards of various professional journals, including Polity, Studies in Comparative Communism, International Studies Quarterly, Justice Quarterly, International Studies Perspective and Comparative Public Opinion.
