Comparative Politics

My academic and community work centers on advancing health policy and the right to education in the Greater Hartford Area. My current research explores the expansion of Medicaid access for undocumented immigrants through political advocacy, with a particular focus on coalition building and public testimony efforts led by grassroots organizations including HUSKY 4 Immigrants, Unidad Latina En Acción, and CT Students for a Dream.

I am actively engaged with the Hartford Public Library as an ESL Tutor through the Boundless Enrich Program at the American Place, where I support high school English language learners in preparing for collegiate coursework and strengthening their literacy skills through workshops and collaborative learning.  My passion for education has led me to serve as an Ignite Fellow with Teach for America and as an Academic Coach with UConn’s Academic Achievement during my undergraduate studies.

Previously I worked as a Administrative Assistant with the Connecticut Immigrant and Refugee Coalition (CIRC), where I contributed to refugee and asylum application processes and supported grant writing efforts as part of the organization’s resettlement initiatives. During the summer, I also served as administrative intern at the Consulate of Perú, where I supported diplomatic outreach, assisted with consular services, and gained further experience in international public service and cross-cultural engagement.
