Research Interests

My research interests broadly focus on the militarization of culture and the linkages between culture and war-making. My dissertation work investigates public events, specifically sporting events, and how militarization of these events turns regular citizens into participants in war-making. The overarching goal of this work is to cut through the grand theorizing about war within IR to discuss how war is something that infiltrates the everyday lives of individuals.
