Sherani Hansa

Sherani Hansa is a master’s student in the Intersectional Indigeneity, Race, Ethnicity, and Politics program. Her research focuses on female militants and gendered narratives of violence. She is interested in how state violence leads to the formation of nonstate resistance groups and about the motivations of women who join these groups. Her other research interests include postcolonialism in South Asia and the Caribbean, American education policy, and borders and migration.
