The POLS Alumni Mentorship Program has launched, with an opening event on December 3, 2025 involving a dozen mentors and mentees who have now begun to meet monthly (through Fall 2026). Student mentees receive one-on-one coaching, tailored to their career goals, including help with key communication, problem-solving, and networking skills needed for professional development. Their mentors are experts in their respective fields and are committed to deepening the success of our students. Eligibility
Students meet the following criteria:
- Currently enrolled as a sophomore or junior political science major with at least one full year attendance at UConn.
- Demonstrate a commitment to attending and thoughtfully participating in required mentorship meetings.
Expectations
The minimum expectation is that the mentee and mentor meet virtually or in person once a month for roughly an hour for at least six times during spring 2026, at least once over summer 2026, and once in fall 2026.
